Boat Towing Responsibilities

These are general responsibilities and should not be assumed to cover every eventuality

If the 'Tower of the Day' becomes aware that they are unable to tow on their day, it is their responsibility to ensure they have cover in place

If the 'Tower of the Day' has some sort of emergency/illness on the morning of the dive and cannot tow, they must inform the Club DO (Paddy Foley) as soon as they are aware

 Whoever is towing the boat will;

1. Pick up the boat and depart in good time to arrive at the dive site and get the boat in the water before the dive brief

2. Before leaving, ensure all connections (physical and electrical) are good

3. Before leaving, make sure items such as oxygen, first aid kit etc. are packed

4. On arrival at dive site, utilise club members to get the boat safely in the water

5. Hand boat over to Cox'n of the Day for testing

6. After all diving activities have been completed, utilise club members to get the boat safely back on the trailer.

7. Ensure the boat is properly seated on the trailer

8. Ensure the boat is properly secured on the trailer

9. Before leaving the dive site, ensure all connections (physical and electrical) are good

10. On return to base, make sure items such as oxygen, first aid kit etc. are put away

11. Give the boat a good washing in fresh water
