Boat Towing Responsibilities
These are general responsibilities and should not be assumed to cover every eventuality
If the 'Tower of the Day' becomes aware that they are unable
to tow on their day, it is their responsibility to ensure they have cover in
place
If the 'Tower of the Day' has some sort of emergency/illness on the morning of
the dive and cannot tow, they must inform the Club DO (Paddy Foley) as soon as
they are aware
Whoever is towing the boat will;
1. Pick up the boat and depart in good time to arrive at the dive site and get
the boat in the water before the dive brief
2. Before leaving, ensure all connections (physical and electrical) are good
3. Before leaving, make sure items such as oxygen, first aid kit etc. are packed
4. On arrival at dive site, utilise club members to get the boat safely in the
water
5. Hand boat over to Cox'n of the Day for testing
6. After all diving activities have been completed, utilise club members to get
the boat safely back on the trailer.
7. Ensure the boat is properly seated on the trailer
8. Ensure the boat is properly secured on the trailer
9. Before leaving the dive site, ensure all connections (physical and
electrical) are good
10. On return to base, make sure items such as oxygen, first aid kit etc. are
put away
11. Give the boat a good washing in fresh water
12. Ensure jeep is locked and keys returned
